According to Baitadi District Administration Office, the border will be closed off from Friday morning till Sunday evening (November 26).
Authorities will shut the border crossings at Jhulaghat, Dattu, Khalanga and Joljibi border points.
Security agencies are already on a high alert to prevent untoward events that could affect the elections.
Border security surveillance has also been heightened in Baitadi and Darchula districts.
Chief District Officer of Baitadi Siddharaj Joshi said except for emergency situations, border crossings will be disallowed for all during the 72 hours period. Meanwhile, the local administration in Baitadi has banned sale and distribution of liquor until the elections beginning Tuesday, as part of its election security plan.
