A recently married couple of Nepal Police inspectors and a national volleyball referee are among the victims. The incident occurred when the four-wheeler (Ga 1 Ja 4260) en route to Musikot from Rukumkot veered off the road and plunged about 150 metres.
Police identified the deceased as Nabin Shrestha and his wife Anita Pradhan of Sisne Rural Municipality; Sher Bahadur Shrestha, his son Sudhan Shrestha and daughter Surekha Shrestha; Janak Shah of Musikot-1 and Yamuna Malla of Musikot-6. Nabin and his wife Anita, both inspectors in Nepal Police, were married only three days ago.
They were returning to their duty station after the wedding ceremony at Nabin’s home. Shah was the national volleyball referee. Surekha and Yamuna were deployed for the federal parliament and provincial assembly elections scheduled for Sunday. Tek Bahadur Khatri, jeep driver Prem Thapa and his assistant Prem KC were injured in the incident. (PR)
