Addressing a rally organised by his party Nepali Congress in Myanglung on Monday, Deuba said the left alliance of the CPN-UML and the CPN (Maoist Centre) was a threat to loktantra. NC President Deuba also claimed that people would be denied freedom of expression and movement if the communists ruled the country. “Unity among the democratic forces is a must in the present context to safeguard the constitution and [to ensure] its implementation,” the PM said.
He promised to speed up construction of the Mid-Hill Highway that passes through the district and take immediate measures to blacktop the Basantapur-Myanglung road section.
Oli: Stable government necessary for economic development
BHAIRAHAWA: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has stressed the need for a stable government to speed up economic development.
Speaking at a trade fair organised in Bhairahawa on Monday, the former prime minister said the government to be formed after the elections should promote industrialisation in the country. He blamed the incumbent government’s inability to devise an appropriate policy for proper mobilisation of capital for the volatile stock market.
Oli claimed that the left alliance would win enough seats to form a government that would strengthen democracy and national unity. He promised to promote Lumbini as a pilgrimage site by building the infrastructure necessary for a modern city there. (PR)
