All ballot boxes secured at district headquarters

The Election Commission (EC) said on Wednesday that ballot boxes have been brought to the district headquarters and secured.
“All the ballot boxes of the first phase of elections have arrived in headquarters
of respective districts and there are adequate security arrangements,” said EC Spokesperson Navaraj Dhakal.
The EC had used choppers to transport ballot boxes from remote districts which are not connected with the road networks.
All the ballot boxes will be kept at the district headquarters until the second phase of elections scheduled for December 7. Vote counting will start only after the completion of the second phase of elections.
Chief election officers and election officers have been entrusted with task of keeping ballot boxes safe with assistance from security agencies.
Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force and the Nepal Army are providing security to the ballot boxes. Besides, representatives of political parties are also present at the locations where the ballot boxes have been kept.
