Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Bikram Pandey on Wednesday underlined the need of putting extra efforts to avoid human-wildlife conflict.
Addressing an election rally at Govindabasti of Madi in Chitwan, Pandey said human-wildlife conflict affects human population as well as wildlife.
Strong measures are required to prevent wildlife of the Chitwan National Park from entering human settlements, he said.
Pandey, a Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Prajatantrik) leader, is contesting for the federal parliament from Chitwan Constituency-3 against CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
Pledging to end the risk of human-wildlife conflict, if he is given an opportunity by the people of the constituency to serve at the centre, Pandey expressed his commitment to develop Madi as a tourist destination and develop its infrastructure.
