Addressing a rally in Mahendranagar on Saturday, Deuba claimed that the democratic system was under threat from the unity among the communists.
“The left alliance of the CPN-UML and the CPN (Maoist Centre) has announced to amend the constitution and impose the presidential system. Statute amendment for the presidential system is preparation for one-party rule,” claimed the NC chief.
Deuba urged the people to vote for his party to strengthen loktantra and for an inclusive constitution.
“I will be the prime minister again if the Congress wins. Who will develop this area? I or KP Oli of the East and Pushpa Kamal Dahal?” questioned the four-time PM. He also promised to complete the Pancheshwar Multi-purpose Project and West Seti Hydropower Project in Province 7 within “five years”.
