In the past elections, the NC had registered victory with 40 percent votes as the UML, the Maoist Centre and the Rastriya Janamorcha contested the polls separately. In
the last five elections to the House of Representatives, the NC had won one seat out of three in the district.
Maoist Centre leader Devendra Paudel said the left alliance should work in favour of the people. “If we can’t work hard, we will lose public trust,” said Paudel. The left alliance candidates also pledged to work for economic development of the district from the same forum after they were declared winners.
