Prez stresses upliftment of marginalised communities

President Bidya Devi Bhandari said on Saturday promotion and upholding of human rights is not possible without the uplift of the marginalised communities.  

Addressing the 9th national assembly of Human Rights and 69th Human Rights Day in the Capital city on Saturday, President Bhandari underscored the need of conducting research on incidents of human rights violation.  

She also laid stress on ensuring quality life and hygienic foods for healthy and prosperous life.  

Stating that the constitution has guaranteed multi-party democracy, free press and independent judiciary, President Bhandari said these provisions should be practically implemented in the country.  

 Similarly, National Human Rights Commission Chairman Anup Raj Sharma said 

that the recently held federal and provincial elections remained exemplary in South Asia. Various human rights activists were also feted on the occasion.
