Fragrance of Life II, artist Namrata Singh’s solo exhibition of paintings, is slated to open this Saturday, Dec 16, at Newa Chen Art Gallery in Lalitpur.

Speaking about the exhibit, artist Singh said, “In my work, I have painted the experiences and happiness that I have felt in my life. Though we tend to experience both lightness and dark in our lives, it’s up to us which we want to embrace more. Nowadays it seems as though due to the overdependence on science and technology, we have forgotten the essence of being human.”

Singh added, “The paintings on display are my way to seeking for that essence of being human, which I do by painting the apparently banal moments of my life and by seeking meaning in them. My paintings portray the essence of being oneself, being air and fragrance of life.”

The exhibit will be on display at Newa Chen every day from 10 am to 5 pm, through January 31, 2018.
