60 killed in East in a year: Insec

A total of 60 people were killed in different incidents that occurred in the eastern region in the past one year, according to the Informal Sector Service Centre (Insec).
Six people were killed by the state side, and the remaining 54 (25 females and 29 males) by various other parties, according to the report made public by Insec at a function held in Biratnagar, Morang, on Sunday.
Insec reports a total of 1,059 people became victims of rights violations in 2017. There were 101 incidents of rape, over 80 sexual harassment cases and 20 human trafficking were reported.
