Speaking at the 11th general assembly of Sajha on Friday, Maharjan said he made a commitment of improving the condition of the Satdobato-Godawari road so that Sajha could operate its buses. Sajha is already operating is bus service from Bungamati of Lalitpur till Budhanilkantha of Kathmandu at the request of the Lalitpur Metropolitan City. Now the metropolis, which also owns a share in Sajha, wants to take the bus service to Godawari.
On the occasion, Sajha announced its plan to introduce low-floor buses on the streets of Kathmandu Valley.
Sajha CEO Mahendra Raj Pandey said the new buses were expected to arrive from Rajasthan, India, in two weeks. Besides, the transport cooperative has also invited bids to purchase 20 more buses to resume its long distance service.
