10 parties register with poll body for Upper House polls

The CPN-UML, the CPN (Maoist Centre) and the Madhes-centric parties are among those who have yet to register themselves with the commission for the Upper House polls, said Dharma Chandra Timalsena, section officer at the EC’s Law and Political Parties Concerned Section. According to him, Nepali Congress, Rastriya Janamorcha, Nepal Sanghiya Samajwadi Party-Nepal, Sanghiya Lokatantrik Rastriya Manch, Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party, Bahujan Shakti Party, Nepal Pariwar Dal, Nepal Naulo Janabadi, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Prajatantrawadi) and Bibeksheel Sajha Party are the parties which have registered themselves for the purpose.
The EC had given the political parties until January 12 to register themselves for the National Assembly elections.
