“Government’s delay in revealing the report on the damage made due to Kailali incident and Madhes movement has created suspicious,” said Mahantha Thakur, coordinator of the party presidium.
After the 14-month probe, the High-level Commission led by former Supreme Court Justice Girish Chandra Lal had submitted the report to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on December 15.
According to another presidium member Rajkishor Yadav, around 25 party cadres are serving jail terms and an elected member of Parliament Resham Chaudhary has been absconding because of the cases related to the Tikapur incident and Madhes movement.
Sources claimed that the probe report has taken a soft corner towards Chaudhary in the Tikapur incident and other cases in which the RJP-N cadres have been serving jail terms.
Party’s meeting on Tuesday also decided to demand the government arrange for proper compensations for those who were died due to the cold wave in the southern plains and distribute necessary materials, including warm clothes, blankets and firewood for the people living in the affected districts.
