New Diamond earned a 25-17, 25-15, 29-31, 25-17 win over NPC to maintain their winning streak and join APF, the other unbeaten team, atop the standings with 18 points. NPC have 12 points with four wins and two defeats. In another match, Tops Higher Secondary School of Pokhara beat Meghauli Sports Club of Chitwan in straight sets 25-8, 25-13, 26-14. Tops have nine points from three matches.
The other matches of the day saw Eastern Region Volleyball Association and Shree Gaun Sports Development Committee of Dang record wins. The East toiled hard to beat New Diamond Sports Club, the second team of New Diamond, 27-25, 25-22, 18-25, 21-25, 15-5. Shree Gaun eased past Paramount High School 25-12, 25-17, 25-20.
Organised by the Dhorpatan Club, the tournament features 12 teams. Winners and the runners-up will be rewarded with Rs 325,000 and Rs 170,000 respectively. The best player, rising player, player of the year and player of the series will be rewarded with a scooter each.
