24 tonnes of solid waste removed under clean-up campaigns

At least 24 tonnes of solid waste has been extracted as part of the Valley’s river and Ring Road clean-up campaigns. 

The Bagmati Clean-up Mega Campaign that entered the 246th week on Saturday saw an extraction of 5 tonnes of garbage from Bagmati River at Shankhamul area. More than 500 people participated in the campaign. 

Two tonnes of trash were collected from Hanumanghat and Gothatar bridge area under Beyond-Guheshwori Bagmati Clean-up Campaign that made it to the 207th week. 

Likewise, a tonne of garbage was collected from Maitidevi-Rudranagar area as part of Rudramati Clean-up Campaign, which reached the 202nd week, while 4 tonnes of trash was gathered from Manamaiju bridge area under the Bishnumati Clean-up Campaign that entered the 174th week. 

Twelve tonnes of garbage was extracted from Sukedhara area under the Ring Road Clean-up Campaign that made it to the 42nd week. The drive saw participation of hundreds of people from various walks of life, including Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Hari Prabha Khadgi.
