In Humla, 11 houses were gutted by a fire that broke out at Rodikot Karkibada Village of Sarkeghat Rural Municipality-7. Kusumkali Karki, a local woman, said there were no human casualties as the fire broke out during the daytime. “But our cattle were killed in the fire,” she said, adding that locals and police struggled to douse the fire. Humla Chief District Officer Laxmi Prasad Baskota said the damage caused by the fire is yet to be known. CDO Baskota said that the compensation would be provided soon to the affected households.
In Rolpa, six houses and a shed were burnt in a fire that spread at Ghodagaun in Suwarnawati Rural Municiplaity-1. Police said a boy sustained burn injuries and some cattle were also killed in the fire. The cause of fire is yet to be known, said police. Locals and police personnel had put out the fire. The destruction caused by fire is yet to be evaluated.
