“The provinces and the local federal units should not function arbitrarily by curtailing the powers of the Centre. The Centre will monitor everything,” Nepal told journalists in Kailali on Thursday.
The UML leader was of the opinion that the federal units cannot take decisions as they please in the name of rights. “There should be such a political environment that corruption is controlled. Anyone following corrupt practices should be punished,” he said.
Meanwhile, the former prime minister said there should be no doubts over the planned unification between the UML and CPN (Maoist Centre). The merger would happen soon after both sides agree on ideological and structural issues, he said.
On the intended party merger before government formation, some technical problems had pushed it back, said Nepal, claiming that government formation and party unification would now go together.
