Saptari police arrests a 12-year-old boy aftera two-year-old is raped on Thursday
Feb 17, 2018-Four incidents of rape were reported from different parts of the country on Friday. Three of the victims were below 13 years of age, one of whom, an 11-year-old girl, was subsequently murdered after rape by her cousin in Saptari.
SP Mukesh Kumar Singh, the chief of Saptari District Police Office, said they have arrested the girl’s 18-year-old cousin in connection to the rape and murder case that took place at Lalpatika village in Khadga Municipality-9 last week.
The district police chose not to reveal the incident until Friday to ensure that the suspect did not get wind of the investigation. The accused was presented before the press on Friday.Saptari police has also arrested a 12-year-old boy after a two-year-old child was raped in Chinnamasta Rural Municipality on Thursday.
A 13-year-old girl was also raped in Krishnapur Municipality, Kanchanpur, on Thursday morning. Police has arrested a 21-year-old suspect in the case. The girl is undergoing treatment in Dhangadhi, police said.
Similarly, a 21-year-old woman from Bhangaha Municipality-8, Mahottari, was raped on Thursday night.The woman has accused a man from Loharpatti Municipality-6 of raping her.She has also claimed that her alleged rapist and his three friends broke into her home and made off with Rs 450,000 cash, a mobile set and other valuables.
Police has launched a manhunt to capture the suspects.
