Kantipur awards outstanding staff

Publications’ Chairman and Managing Director Kailash Sirohiya felicitated senior employees, including Kantipur Daily editor Hari Bahadur Thapa and senior cartoonist Durga Baral among others, who have been part of the organisation since its beginning. They were felicitated with the letter of appreciation and silver coin, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the publications.
On the occasion, Sirohiya also presented staffers from different departments with “Employee of the Year” awards. The Post’s assistant senior sub-editor Lekhnath Panta, Kantipur daily’s senior sub-editor Durga Khanal, Nepal Weekly’s Rajkumar Baniya and Saptahik Weekly’s sub-editor Janakraj Timilsina were awarded with “Employee of the Year” trophy and cash prizes for outstanding performance in their respective departments.
Parbat Portel, publications’ Jhapa correspondent, was awarded for his outstanding reporting from outside the Kathmandu valley. Other award-winning employees include Hareram Majhi and Dhirendra Kumar Sah from the circulation department; Sanjeev Budhathoki from Scanning/pre-press; Rakesh Singh of the publications’ Regional Office in Nepalgunj; Simran Shrestha from brand; and Binod Bhatta and Naresh Panjiyar from the marketing department.
Besides, works of several other staffs from editorial and administrative departments were also appreciated with token of appreciation and cash awards. Winners of the various sports events and quiz competition organised to mark the 25th anniversary were also presented with certificates, medals and cash prizes.
The publications also commended top three advertising agencies, Max Media, Thomson Nepal and Media Basket, dealers and delivery boys with token of appreciation and cash rewards for their contribution.During the function, the publications also presented the Kantipur Journalism award to journalism students Bibek Raj Sharma, Anjana Sharma and Shital Sangraula for securing the highest marks in examination of the Press Institute, the Tribhuvan University and the Higher Secondary Education Board for the year 2073-74.
