This will allow a pilot project ‘Doorstep Delivery of Financial Services (Roving Agents) and Driving Adoption of Electronic Payments through Delivery Service Use-Case’ to be conducted in Kathmandu.
Tootle is a local start-up looking to address traffic congestion in the Kathmandu Valley by offering a bike sharing service via large networks of bikers. With this agreement, both organisations will leverage the network of bikers for the delivery of both financial and non-financial services such as package delivery, food delivery and more to retail customers.
The MM4P programme will provide a grant and technical assistance to Tootle to test the unprecedented concept of roving agents for the supply of financial and non-financial services. The objective of the pilot is to test the viability of this model and its potential to enhance the digital financial services ecosystem in the country, reads the press statement.
