“Not even 10 percent of the employees that the government had deployed to the province has reported to work yet. Some of them who did arrive are on leave right now,” said CM Poudel during a programme in Hetauda on Thursday.
He claimed that the employees’ preference to work inside the Singhadurbar complex, the country’s administrative centre, is hindering the implementation of federalism.
Minister for Physical Infrastructures Development Keshav Sthapit, who had arrived to Hetauda on Monday to assume his office, returned to Kathmandu on the same day after seeing that his ministry did not have adequate human resources.
“Why should I stay in the provincial capital when there are no employees at the ministry?” Sthapit said.
