The Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Office had issued the arrest warrant against Silwal on January 2, following the Supreme Court’s order to the government to initiate action against him for forging his performance appraisal reports in an apparent bid to become the police chief.
MP Silwal had also attended the UML Parliamentary Party meeting on Saturday.
After Sunday’s oath ceremony, Silwal told the media that he had not gone into hiding. “I was with the people all along,” he claimed.
