Gasoline and fire

- Upama Pant

Mar 7, 2018-

You know how gasoline catches fire:

Slowly it lights up

Steadily it burns down

Everything and everyone the same

In the embrace of the flame

Dear  Fire,

They seek you for your light

For your warmth for a while

Then wash down the ash pit of despair

 Whoever  cares, cares

And when you’re hot

You make the edges fall off

And the eyes go blurry

With your poisonous flare

All I’ve ever done

Is be beside you

So what else would I be?

But gasoline

And what else could I do?

But burn for you
