Anfa felicitates footballer Lama

All Nepal Football Association (Anfa) Women’s Commission on Thursday feted national women’s team forward Anu Lama on the occasion of International Women’s Day.  Lama, the leading international goal-scorer for Nepal with 35, was feted with Rs 25,000 at the Anfa Complex. Anfa Women Commission president Bindra Dewan presented the prize money from her own purse.  Lama, out of action since December 2016 after undergoing knee surgery, had played influential role in Nepal’s entry into the final of three Saff Women’s Champion-ships and two South Asian Games (SAG) football final. Lama’s tally of 35 international goals includes four hat-tricks. She captained the team during the 2014 Saff Championship in Pakistan and 2016 SAG in India. Former captain Jamuna Gurung has scored 25 and Sabitra Bhandari 17 goals for Nepal. (PR)
