Kovind, Xi, Hamid laud Bhandari’s re-election

President of India Ram Nath Kovind congratulated Bhandari on Thursday on her re-election, expressing India’s commitment to working together with her to further strengthen wide-ranging bilateral relations.
Bhandari was re-elected the head of state on Tuesday. Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated her on Wednesday on her second term in office. In his message, Xi said China supports Nepali people’s “independent choice of social system and development path”, and believes that Nepal will make greater achievements under the leadership of Bhandari and the new government.
Xi stated that he attaches great importance to promoting bilateral ties, and is willing to join efforts to develop “China-Nepal comprehensive cooperative partnership of lasting friendship”.
Abdul Hamid, president of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, also congratulated Bhandari on her re-election. Hamid reiterated the high importance Bangladesh attaches to its relations with Nepal, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
