Shuttler Ratnajit clinches men’s singles title

In a rematch of last year’s final, Ratnajit once again prevailed over Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club shuttler Dhami 22-20, 21-11. Ratnajit’s sister Nangsal had also claimed the women’s singles title defeating Rashila Maharjan in the final on Wednesday. Ratnajit pocketed a cash purse of Rs 60,000 and Dhami took home Rs 30,000.
Pranav Khanal of TAC sidelined Jitendra Pariyar of Lalitpur 7-5, 3-6, 6-0 to win the men’s singles title of the 10th Sahabir Memorial Open Lawn Tennis Championships. In the women’s final, Mayanka Rana got the better of her twin sister and Nepal Police Club (NPC) teammate Mahika 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. The top two finishers in both the categories got Rs 60,000 and Rs 30,000.
APF won the fifth Nationwide Open Women’s Volleyball Tournament defeating New Diamond Academy 25-19, 25-18, 25-19. In the third place playoff, NPC saw off TAC 25-12, 25-13, 25-13. The top three finishers in the volleyball tournament got Rs 250,000, Rs 125,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively. The volleyball tournament was participated in by six teams.
