New book Sheds light on erotic art in Nepali temples

Anthologised by Shivaji Das, the book is made out of extensive fieldwork done with craftsmen, sociologists, historians, priests and Maoist rationalists.
The book consists of research into the beliefs of medieval Nepali culture, principles of Nepali temple architecture, brief history about the craftsmen, while it also chronicles the ongoing reconstruction efforts after many of the Valley’s temples were either destroyed or damaged by the 2015 Earthquakes.
Further, the book also compiles images of erotic carvings found in temples around Nepal; compiling a total of 128 full-size images, the book also has texts accompanied with the images.
The book is published by the Delhi-based publication Adarsh Books.
