CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that Hetauda would be the permanent capital of Province 3.
Speaking at a press conference organised by Press Centre Makwanpur in Hetauda on Wednesday, he said among the 13 districts in Province 3, Hetauda was the most suitable place to be the province capital.
“The province capital will not be changed as rumoured,” he said.
The former prime minister said people should not go after rumours of changing the province capital as all administrative works that are expected to be carried out by a province capital have already started from Hetauda.
Regarding the name of the province, he said it was for of the Province Assembly to decide on the name.
“This year has been the election year and now is time to work for economic prosperity of the country. And this requires national consensus,” Dahal said, adding that the government has created an environment of understanding with all political parties on major national issues to work in a result-oriented manner.
The Maoist Centre chairman said the main challenge at present was to maintain good governance, stability and to give impetus to development.
“Works are being expedited to formulate the laws required for the provinces to give impetus to development works,” he said.
Dahal said although the government has two-thirds majority support, it was seeking the support of the Madhes-centric parties to speed up the overall development and to establish political stability.
Stating that the unification of the CPN-UML and the Maoist Centre will take place in a few days, he said the task forces formed to fulfil the unification process has completed its work and was preparing to submit its report.
