Teams from Assam and Kanpur are the two foreign invitees in the tournament.

The champions will get Rs 311,000 and the runners-up will take home Rs 171,000, informed the organisers during on Tuesday. The tournament is organised in the memory of former Janakpur cricketer Deepak Gupta, a right handed fast bowler who had passed away eight years ago.
Navin Singh, the cricket coach under the National Sports Council, said it was a good way to pay tribute to Gupta. “He was a very good cricketer and had been one of the pillars of Dhanusha cricket. Apart from his on-field exploits, he also served as a very good administrator in the regional cricket body,” said Singh.
Tournament coordinator Saroj Mishra said spectators can expect a very good competition following the refurbishment of Barha Bigha ground. “We had previously organised the two editions of the tournament under the mat. But we have worked pretty hard to get three turf wickets and we can ensure that the ground has been given international dimension and standard,” said Mishra. “Our plan is to preserve the ground now and help in producing more cricketers from the city,” added Mishra. National cricket team skipper Paras Khadka has been appointed the ambassador of the tournament.
