Apr 4, 2018-

A high-level panel chaired by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday extended the date to receive the second part of the housing grant to mid July 2018. The Steering Committee of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) took this decision for the benefit of families affected by the 2015 earthquake.

NRA Chief Executive Officer Yubaraj Bhusal said, “The meeting decided to extend the deadline for the second time as many households are yet to acquire the amount or start the process of building homes.”

The NRA had given time up to mid-April for earthquake survivors to avail the second part of government grant. As on April 4, 691,107 households have received the first part of financial aid, 331,863 the second part and 91,880 the third part. The authority mandated to reconstruct homes has signed grant agreements with 705,616 households.
