Batting first, DAV were indebted to skipper Aashutosh Ghiraiya and Purnendu Ghosh to post 152-8 in 20 overs. Opener Shubham Agrawal gave Panthers a dream start with a blistering half century but his dismissal triggered a dramatic collapse that saw them score 135-10 in 20 overs.
For DAV Ghiraiya and man-of-the-match Ghosh rebuilt the innings from a precarious 27-4. Both the batsmen scored 46 with the former hitting six boundaries in his 35-ball innings, while the latter clobbered five fours and a six in his 26-ball knock. Shubham Agrawal took three and Harsh Podar claimed two wickets for Panthers.
After shining with the ball, Shubham was the lone batsman to take the fight on DAV. But his 70-run blitz went all in vain. He struck six boundaries and five sixes in his 37-ball knock. Prashant Yadav and Ghosh claimed three wickets each for DAV.
