A Mahindra Bolero, licence number Ba 18 Pa 4699, lost control and
plummeted around 4oo metres off the road in Melamchi Municipality-9, Sindhupalchok, killing three persons. The vehicle, en route to Jyamire from Melamchi Bazaar carrying construction materials, met with the accident around 9:30pm.
Police identified the deceased as driver Suresh Tamang, Kamal Syangbo and Moti Adhikari of Jyamire.
In another accident in Sindhupalchok, a passenger died and three others sustained injuries when a Helambu-bound bus (Ba 2 Kha 6365) crashed at Timbu in the district at 10pm. Mahendra Bhujel of Indrawati Rural Municipality died in the crash, police said. The injured are receiving treatment in Melamchi Hospital.
In Sankhuwasabha, three persons died when a tractor, loaded with electricity poles, fell over a cliff at Chainpur Municipality-2 on Sunday evening. The vehicle plummeted about 100 metres of the road, said police.
The deceased have been identified as Tanka Paudel, Harka Bahadur Rai and Rajendra Rai of Madi Municipality-7.
In another road accident in the district, one Krishna Bahadur Thapa died when a tractor hit him at Chichila Rural Municipality-4.
