A leader of the RJP-N presidium Mahendra Raya Yadav left for the Indian capital on Monday, while Thakur is scheduled to leave on Tuesday afternoon.
Though the party maintains the purpose of their visit as follow-up on their pace-maker installed in their chest, they could also have political engagements during their sojourn in Delhi.
“We have not taken any formal decision about the political engagements. But the leaders could have informal meetings with Indian leaders while they are there,” said Rajkishor Yadav, another leader of the RJP-N presidium.
Satyendra Kumar Mishra, a close aide to Thakur, said the latter would be accompanied by lawmaker and RJP-N General Secretary Chanda Chaudhary.
Speaking to reporters about PM KP Sharma Oli’s India visit, Yadav said his party has taken the visit as a mere tradition but welcomed the agreements on building waterways and railways in Nepal as a significant step. “I hope they will be implemented on time,” he said.
