2.5pc kids in Darchula denied school education

DARCHULA

Apr 17, 2018-Around 2.5 percent children either do not have access or have not enrolled in school for various reasons, the District Education Office said on Monday.

Student enrolment across Nepal is 97.2 percent.

Under Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s vision, the campaign “enrol pupils in school” started last Sunday. 

“The campaign has two phases under the slogan ‘Our Collective Aspiration; Compulsory Free Basic Education’,” said Acting District Education Officer of Darchula Jayaraj Pant. 

According to 2017’s statistics, 278 students were outside the school education system. 

Financial challenges, one of the primary reasons, are among the factors that keep scores young students out of school education.

In Dang district, an estimated 2,200 children do not have access to education despite the government spending large amount. (rss)
