Colours of life
Apr 23, 2018-
Life is colourful whether we realise it or not. Some might argue that their life has not been colourful at all; that they have experienced misery. I think it depends on how you take life. I haven’t always had a wonderful life, but I think life has a lot to offer us, so I tend to think of life as being full of colour.
There are different colours in nature and different kinds of people too. They all have different choices. If a person likes the colour white, it doesn’t mean that other colours are ugly. It all depends on perspective. Life, however, is not biased. It fills your life with the entire spectrum of colours, whether you like it or not.
No two moments can ever be similar, and so no two days are similar. Even though one might feel that their life is following a daily routine, many things change on a daily basis that we fail to notice. For me, every day is a new day and an opportunity to learn something. When I have good days, where I feel accomplished, I feel proud of myself and it encourages me to do even better in the future. As human beings, we have all experienced times in our lives where nothing makes sense at all and we feel drained by what we are doing. Our self-esteem becomes so low that we just want to quit. Sometimes, we might get frustrated and tired of what we are doing and at times, we might even feel lonely. At these times, the only thing that sustains me is hope for tomorrow.
When one begins to understand that life is full of different colours and we have to deal with them, I think life becomes a lot more tolerable. It is this hope for a different colour in our life that we keep on moving. Colours are interesting. When I was a child, I liked pink a lot. When I was a teenager, I loved red. I sometimes liked blue too. But now my favourite colours are orange and yellow. So, if you like something right now, it doesn’t necessarily mean you are going to like it for the rest of your life. Everything eventually changes, and so do you. You might not like the job you are doing right now but who knows, over the years you could become an expert in that same job and it could make you proud of what you do.
So, I think it is useless to cry over the particular colour that life offers you. The least you can do is to try it. If you like it, you might cling to it a bit longer, if you don’t, you can hope for the next colour that life will eventually offer over time.
