Pragya awards for Music and Theatre
This year’s National Pragya Awards for Music and Theatre have been announced. The Pragya award in Theatre will be provided to veteran theatre expert Ramavatar Yadav who has contributed to Nepal’s theatre sector for a long period of time. Similarly, Pragya award in Music will be handed over to veteran musician Kiran Kharel.
Likewise, artist Subhadra Adhikary will receive the Pragya Award in Dance category, while Laxmi Prasad Joshi will receive the award in Folk Music category. The awards under the headings Traditional Music and Theatre will be given to musician Pushpa Ratna Tuladhar and artist Madandas Shrestha, respectively.
All the prizes include a Tamrapatra and a cash purse of Rs 100,000. The secretary of Pratisthan, Ganesh Rasik, said that the prizes would be handed over by president Bidhya Devi Bhandari amid a function in the Capital.
