It has rebuilt 143,827 homes, or 14.43 percent of the project, so far. A success rate less than 15 percent in three years exposes the NRA to critical censure.
The figure is dismal for other sectors too. Data shows of the quake damaged 750 heritage sites, the NRA has so far rebuilt only 100 of them.
NRA Joint Secretary Rajuman Manandhar said, “Disagreements over reconstruction modalities, intervention by citizens at several sites and lack of adequate engineers are among the reasons for slow work progress.”
Of the 544 quake-ravaged health facilities, the NRA has repaired and retrofitted over 331 buildings and set up 255 prefabricated structures.
Of the 7,533 damaged school buildings, the NRA is yet to reconstruct 2,361 buildings while the construction of 3,157 school buildings is over.
Among government offices, only six out of the 379 buildings have been completed.
