“Initially we had planned to announce the party merger on the occasion of the bi-centenary of Karl Marx, but it has been delayed due to some technical reasons,” PM Oli said, while addressing a programme, organised by the UML standing committee to mark the bi-centenary of Marx on Saturday.
Noting that the Marxist ideas are still relevant in politics, society and economics, PM Oli said the two left parties should be united without further delay on the ground of Marxism. “The unification among the communist forces was the need of the hour to move the country towards socialism,” Oli said, adding that the formation of capital should be for realising socialism. UML Chair Oli added that the Marxist philosophy was propagated to liberate the workers from vicious circle of exploitation. “The process of adoptation of socialism by implementing Marxism is not a step to totalitarianism,” he said, hinting at the allegation of main opposition Nepali Congress.
