‘Rule of criminals and corrupt people will end’

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa said on Monday that people’s rule would be established by ending the rule of hooligans, criminals and corrupt people. Referring to a recent government clampdown on syndicate in the public transport, Thapa said the government is on the path to development and prosperity by ending such illegal practices.Speaking at a programme organised here to honour and felicitate the families of those killed and disappeared during the decade-long Maoist insurgency, he said the government is committed to providing a ‘decent’ help.
On the occasion, Minister Thapa pointed out their sacrifice and contribution in forming the federal government which “is now advancing towards socialism”.
He also directed police to curb increasing illegal extraction of construction materials from rivers in the district.
Other speakers, including Nepal Communist Party leader Dil Krishna Prajapati and party district coordinator DP Dhakal suggested that the incumbent government honour the families of martyrs and those disappeared during the insurgency.
