Joshi says it would be good to plan such fairs in every state so that counsellors can meet and interact with parents and students parents

May 27, 2018-The resounding success of the Fifth Kantipur-Hissan Education Fair in Kathmandu encouraged a section of academia, students and parents to advise organising such expos all over Nepal for the benefit of citizens in other provinces.

Uniglobe College ‘A’ Levels Incharge Surendra Joshi said, “Educational fairs enable institutions to explain their programmes, courses, curriculum, extra-curricular activities and facilities to a large audience. The Kantipur-Hissan Fair gave students under one roof the opportunity to visit various stalls, compare and choose what suits them best for from several colleges in the valley.”

A student visitor, Manisha Budathoki said she would be happy if such informative fairs are organised in every state of Nepal. “Those living far from Kathmandu would get the opportunity gather information of various colleges and then decide which one to select,” she said.

Joshi, too, said it would be a very good plan if such fairs were held in every state so that counsellors can meet and interact with parents and students parents. This would be a great help for both—the institutions and students.

A parent visitor, Kabita Sahi said, “Institutions could counsel more students and parents if educational events such as this one are held in other parts of the country.”

Many educational institutions, including those offering higher education, benefited by participating in the Kantipur-Hissan Edu-Fair 2018.

A large number of students and parents visited various pavilions that displayed complete details of participating institutions. The participation of parents compared to the ratio of students could have been better, said one participant.

Kantipur-Hissan event managers hosted the fair with the slogan ‘Excellent Education Within Nepal’.

The organisers achieved their goals of providing comprehensive information on quality education provided by the country’s leading institutions to the thousands of visitors on all days of the fair.

Many faculty staff and student counsellors gave organisers positive appraisals on the fair.

KIST College Co-ordinator Sunil Babu Adhikari said, “The fair gave us a platform to counsel and advise many students and their parents. This concept of all colleges exhibiting their courses under one roof is very good. We could promote our infrastructure, facilities and scope of our courses through various multi-media presentations such as photographs, videos and our volunteers.”

“Not only the students, we too benefited from the fair organised jointly by Kantipur and Hissan. Just as the students could choose an institution even we could choose quality students during the counseling sessions at the fair,” he said.

The fair provided a perfect platform to the participating colleges. Representatives of most colleges did an excellent job of presenting the academic, administrative, tuition fees and recreational options.

The fair attracted a huge crowd, mainly from the valley, on the first and second day. Overall, it was a grand success, event organisers said on the second last day.
