Among the three plays to be staged were Colourful Through the World (from Germany), Carousel (Slovakia) and 50 Minutes (India). Organised by Akshara School, the fest features plays from 11 countries: Nepal, Bangladesh, Denmark, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Germany, Russia, Indonesia, Slovakia and Switzerland.
“There is no doubt that drama has a significant impact on education. Through drama and performing arts, students get an opportunity to discover their skills as future artists, writers, directors, and playwrights,” the organisers said.
The first day of the festival saw participants from different nations come together to participate in a rally which saw the showcasing of culture, costumes, music and art from the respective countries.
On May 29, Tuesday, the fest will feature the plays Cindelaras (Indonesia), and Red Alert (Pakistan) in three rounds—at 11am, 1 pm and 5pm—before the fest comes to a close.
