In Okhaldhunga, a jeep swerved off the road and plunged some 200 metres at Manebhanjyang Rural Municipality-6 on Thursday, killing two persons and injuring as many others.
Singe Tamang, 40, and Kailimaya Tamang, 35, of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-5 died in the incident, police said.
The ill-fated jeep (Na 1 Ja 4950) was heading to Okhadhunga from Kathmandu. DSP Ananta Ram Sharma said the cause of the accident was not immediately known.
The injured people are receiving treatment at Ghurmi-based Astha Hospital.
In another incident, three persons died and six others were injured in a jeep accident at Chhabispathibhara Rural Municipality in Bajhang district on Wednesday evening. Two of the injured are in critical conditions.
Police said Birendra Bahadur Singh, 45, and his 38-year-old wife Jala Devi Singh of Chhabispathibhera and driver Lal Bahadur Bhandari, 35, of Kedarsyun Rural Municipality-1 died in the incident.
The Singh couple died on the spot while Bhandari breathed his last on his way to hospital.
The jeep (Se 1 Ja 837) was on its way to Byasi from Bhandebagar Bazaar.
According to Akkal Bahadur Dhami, the chief of the rural municipality, the injured people are receiving treatment at the District Hospital.
