The Home Ministry, which has been drafting the Federal Police Act, had suggested five AIGs in the NP and three in the APF. A Cabinet meeting on Sunday also decided to fill the police vacancies to suit the federal structure. The meeting created 3,101 new posts in Nepal Police.
The government has added one senior superintendent of police (technical), 14 superintendents of police, 12 deputy superintendents of police and 50 inspectors to the police strength. The meeting endorsed police quotas for Nawalparasi (East) and Rukum (East). Nepal Police will have a provincial organisational structure.
