Shree Niwas released on Rs 5,000 bail

Hindu leader Acharya Shree Niwas, who was arrested and charged under the Arms and Ammunition Act, has been released on bail. The single bench of Judge Narayan Prasad Sharma of the Morang District Court ordered the bail release of Shree Niwas on Friday.
Shree Niwas was freed after he deposited the bail amount of Rs 5,000 at the District Administration Office (DAO). Police had arrested the religious leader from the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on May 7 on the allegation of attempting to incite communal violence by staging an attack on himself. On April 8, a gunman had shot at Shree Niwas. Police investigation later discovered that Shree Niwas had himself instructed his bodyguard to shoot him.
