Chand followers shut Chitwan schools

CHITWAN

Jun 26, 2018-A majority of schools in Chitwan district are closed since Sunday due to the protest of All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R), affiliated to the Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal. The union has enforced an indefinite educational strike to protest the arrest of its leaders. There are 548 schools in Chitwan. All private schools and half of the community schools in the district did not run their classes for the second consecutive day on Monday. Chitwan police had arrested ANNISU-R district leaders Ramesh Lamichhane and Saroj Bhattarai on June 19. (PR)
