Issuing a notice of public importance on Wednesday, the division said people found posting ‘illegal contents’ on social media sites will be subject to action under the Electronic Transactions Act-2063.

Issuing a notice of public importance on Wednesday, the division said people found posting ‘illegal contents’ on social media sites will be subject to action under the Electronic Transactions Act-2063.
The division said that its attention had been drawn towards growing cases of people using photos of others to produce pornographic images and sharing them on social media sites. The division also discouraged people from using social media sites as tools to threaten, blackmail and post inflammatory comments to defame a person or organisation. (PR)
