A man drowned in Madhav Khola  at Dharmashtali in Tarakeshwar Municipality, Kathmandu. Police identified the deceased as Prakash Purkuti, a construction worker from the Tarkeshwor Municipality -6.

The rain-swollen river had swept away Purkuti, police said. His body was discovered around 30 metres downstream near the Jarakhu bridge on Monday evening.

Locals informed police after they discovered the body in the river.

Police collected the body  and took it to the TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj for post-mortem.
