EU Film Fest travels to Pokhara

This year, the two-legged festival is travelling for the first time to the Lake City, with screenings on July 7 and 8, before making its way to the Capital.
The Pokhara edition of the film festival will see the screening of six titles—My Pure Land (UK), Tiger Theory (Czech Republic), Defenders of Riga (Latvia), Berlin Babylon (Germany), a selection of Finnish shorts, and The Odyssey (France).
The festival in Pokhara will be inaugurated by Veronica Cody, who is the ambassador of the European Union to Nepal, and will be screened at the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce in Gaihrapatan.
Likewise, the Kathmandu edition of the fest, to take place at Nepal Tourism Board, in Bhrikutimandap, will feature a dozen films such as Escape from Moomin Valley (Finland), Bauhus (Germany), Taranta on the Road (Italy), The Luxembourg Studio, and Gazing into the Distance (Portugal), among others. The films to be screened as part of the fest include documentaries on European art, heritage and culture; and fiction films that champion the art of filmmaking, according to the British Council, the co-host of the fest. The entry to the screenings is free.
