Gadhuwa hails Rs 10m potable water project

Residents of Gadhuwa, Kalika Municipality, in eastern Chitwan welcomed the Rs 10 million potable water project that authorities here opened on Thursday.
Residents contributed Rs 1.5 million for the project. Pokhara-based Gorkha Welfare Trust backed the project financially and technically. It was part of the Trust’s Drinking Water and Sanitation Programme.
Gadhuwa Drinking Water and Sanitation Consumers’ Committee Secretary Chet Kumar Sunar said authorities transferred the ownership of the project, completed in nine months, to the community on Thursday.
The project based on a deep water boring system has an overhead reserve tank with 30 cubic meters capacity to store water. Around 158 homes will receive potable water from this project.Authorities have planned similar water projects for Lankaline and Suryapurm.
Police detain Swiss man on paedophile charge
KATHMANDU: Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) arrested a Swiss citizen on paedophilia charge on Friday. Peter Christian Langendorf, 66, had sexually exploited a 16-year-old boy at a hotel in Chuchhepati by luring him through Facebook Messenger.
