Jul 24, 2018-On its second day, the mass hunger strike organised at Basantapur Durbar Square by the “Solidarity for Dr Govinda KC Alliance” on Monday was joined by around 100 people. The alliance started the campaign to symbolise that Dr KC was not alone in his fact. Unified RPP (Nationalist) leader Prakash Chandra Lohani, former president of Nepal Medical Association Dr Kedar Narsingh KC and civil society leader Krishna Pahadi were among the noted figures to join the sit-in. Lohani hailed Dr KC’s hunger strike arguing that his protest would help improve the quality of medical care. General public, including elderly people, participated in the mass fast. The joint protest is said to continue at Basantapur on Tuesday from 10am to 5pm. (PR)
